MUN is an organization composed of students who are interested in learning more about global politics, international situations, and cultures. Each student selects a country and then acts as a delegate from that country in during the MHS General Assembly. Students should select countries that they have an interest in because they will be required to learn and share their countries culture with others. Additionally, students may choose to belong to other MUN councils. During the General Assembly delegates may request that the Assembly discusses an issue particularly important to their country. Delegates may also submit resolutions to the General Assembly or to the Security Council on relevant matters.
Delegates gain points for attending meetings, holding a leadership position, submitting resolutions, completing a position paper, and organizing an activity.
The MUN Economic and Social Council strives to share the cultures of MHS MUN countries with other MUN members and the school at large. Various cultural activities will be planned throughout the year.
Students interested in joining MUN should check the announcements for future meetings and/or contact Samantha McCarville, Nick Meissner, or any other MUN member.
